Dream by the stream & wake up to   the sound of the Ocean on your
Wild Atlantic Way.

Welcome to Clifden ecoBeach Camping
Connemara, Co. Galway

Our unique ecological natura campsite is Ireland's first Climate Neutral accommodation, nestled amongst the sand dunes on a listed Geosite along the western fringe of Connemara, Co. Galway. It boasts beautiful panoramic Atlantic seascape views from its own secluded private sandy beach, here a true natura camping experience awaits. Ecological & spacious on eight hectares of coastal Machair habitat bio-diversity that interconnects the wonderful West Connacht Coast SAC, a Special Area of Conservation for Bottle-nosed Dolphins.

Ideally situated on the shores of the 'Wild Atlantic Way'  just ten minutes from Clifden town & two minutes from the small scenic village of Claddaghduff, between the beautiful Atlantic ocean & majestic Twelve Bens mountain range which forms part of the 'Connemara National Park'. Only a short distance away, it features fantastic designated trekking routes. Here one can gain a unique understanding of Irish bogs & the ecosystems they support.

Glamping & wild camping style plots with private eco-campfires are peaceful & privately spaced between marram grass covered sand dunes, making your camping experience unique & more enjoyable. Here you can discover the peace of nature amongst the dunes with vast open spaces, natural beauty, sandy beaches, breathtaking sunsets and cosy campfires under a star friendly sky. All within the boundaries of an area of scientific interest that is operated on a sustainable, green, environmental & ethical basis with a zero carbon foot print making this a serene destination to unwind.

One kilometer of coastline with excellent crystal clear bathing water quality provides the perfect water trail discovery for all kinds of sea-borne activities, including safe swimming, angling, crabbing, scuba diving, kite surfing, boating & fantastic 'drift snorkeling' along the estuary of Streamstown Bay. One can also enjoy a coastal discovery of ecological & geological listed sites, these are among the best examples seen any where in Europe. There are beautiful coastal beach walks within the park, with longer self guided walks to & around the picturesque tidal island of Omey.

We guarantee that your plot never becomes wet under foot, will remain dry & clean even in extreme wet weather conditions. It is also rare for mosquito/midget insects to appear on site due to its coastal location.

Enjoy a virtual tour of the park & its surrounding coastal region. Here you can explore through 360 degrees, panoramic, & street view level imagery.(Google Chrome browser recommended).
